The RERC on AAC partnered with two student engineering Learning Factory teams at Penn State University in the spring of 2018. All students were undergraduates in biomedical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, and mechanical engineering. All projects will be presented at the Penn State Learning Factory showcase.
Adapting Scanning Assessment for Beginning Communicators: The Penn State student team of Haohan Zhong, Houyuan Pan, Jung Eek Bang, Jinwei Liu, Hao Li, and Philip Shaheen worked with Tom Jakobs and Erik Jakobs (Invotek), Heidi Koestler (Koestler Performance Research), and David McNaughton (RERC on AAC), to address the challenge of adapting Scanning Wizard for use with beginning communicators.

Modifying the EasyVSD app to Support Video Editing. The Penn State team of Mingzuo Dai, Kate Smeltzer, Edwin Pimental, Chris Kramer, and Kun Wang worked with Erik Jakobs ( Invotek ) and David McNaughton (RERC on AAC) to develop a modified version of the EasyVSD app that would support video editing on tablet devices.
