On May 13-14, 2024 the RERC on AAC and CommunicationFIRST co-hosted the Future of AAC Research Summit in Arlington, Virginia. The Summit brought together a group of 120 AAC users, academic researchers, federal funding agencies, developers, and service providers, with the goal of identifying new research priorities and supporting new collaborations. Summit presentations and discussions are part of an ongoing effort to ensure that
- the priorities and insights of AAC users drive the agenda for future AAC research; and
- future AAC research and technology development involves meaningful partnerships between people who use AAC and researchers / technology developers
In the coming months we will be sharing videos and print versions of Summit presentations. Links will be added below as materials are available.
