Abstract:
In this research study, children and adolescents with ASD made use of a Transition to Literacy feature in an AAC app; that is,  the selection of a graphic item by a participant resulted in both voice output and the dynamic presentation of text (i.e., the word).   All five participants demonstrated gains in single word reading performance  after using AAC software that included  the Transition to Literacy feature.
