At the 2018 RERC on AAC State of the Science Conference, Holyfield et al. will present their findings on whether a video VSD training can help middle schoolers better interpret the pre symbolic communicative behaviors of their peers with disabilities.

On Friday, July 13, 2018, the RERC on AAC will hold its State of the Science conference at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Arlington, Virginia
Mobile technology featuring visual scene displays and just-in-time programming (Holyfield et al., 2019)
The introduction of visual scene displays (with just-in-time programming) resulted in immediate increases in communicative turns for the five beginning communicators in this study by Holyfield et al (2018).
T2L and sight word reading for individuals with ASD (Caron et al., 2018)
